Morphine sulfate is a pain reliever. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain.
Morphine Sulfate Extended-Release Tablets are for oral use and contain morphine sulfate, an agonist at the mu-opioid receptor.
Each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients common to all strengths: cetostearyl alcohol, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, talc, and titanium dioxide.

Morphine sulfate immediate release pills come in various dosages. Your doctor will determine the exact dosage and dosing schedule. MSIR begins working in 30 minutes, although it reaches its peak effect in 1 hour. It will continue to work for 2 to 4 hours.
